Corby entered the bartending world six years ago at the age of 19 and hasn’t looked back. Now the Assistant Venue Manager at The Gresham, Corby’s career has seen her ranked among Australia’s best on numerous occasions and has seen her perform bar takeovers in locations as diverse as Berlin, Singapore and Mexico.
How long have you been in the industry, and what motivated you to embark on the journey of bartending as your profession?
I’ve been in the industry for a little over five years now and, to be completely honest, I didn’t get into hospitality with the idea that it would be long term. Now, I can’t see myself wanting to do anything else.
I think the turning point was when I started working at Gresh and truly releasing what hospitality and service is about. This venue is a beast to work in and to run, but through the (almost) four years I've been here there’s never been a day where I didn’t learn something new.
